History
The Tri-Isles are a small collection of volcanic islands roughly in the shape of a crabs claw when viewed from above. Geologists have theorized that they are a result of several billion years of continental shifts and undersea eruptions, resulting in the rough island formation.
Founding
On the 28th of October, Waffenbaum set out to sea in a tiny shitty boat, heading aimlessly into a storm, he crashed the boat against the shores of the Tri-Isles, on the beach which would later be known as Weeaboo's Landing. Once well ashore, he decided to found a new settlement under the rulership of the Greater Pan-Asian Meritocracy (G.A.M), a pacifist institution devoted to creating a safe haven far from the mainland politics and butthurt. Having set out from Nova Kurwa, a transit system between the Tri-Isles and NK was promtly created to secure mainland access for future trading.
The first actual inhabitant of the island was Minoriko, whom was named head of mining operations within the regi of the isles and below.
The Tri-Isles are, as the name suggests, comprised of three seperate islands connected by stone bridges. The island that also serves as home for most inhabitants is called Kanto, and is typically the first island tourists will explore as this is where the tram station is located. The second island, Tengu, is densely forested and home to the Buddhist monastary Shinto Shrine built on the site of the Great Egging, as well as small farms. (Said Monastery was destroyed by order or Minoriko on the 21th of November, 2011.) The third island is Kappa, which is the industrial nerve of all three islands and the site of the Chairman's Residence, as well as the entrance to the mines of the Tri-Isles, from where most of the riches are excavated.
The water in the middle of all three islands is known as Weeaboo Bay.
Landmarks and Surroundings
Only a handful of buildings exist on the isolated islands, all in distinctive Asian and Oriental styles, setting them apart from the mainland architecture. With Shinto Buddism as the primary island religion (Or rather an offshot loosely based around the idea of Buddha having reincarnated as a chicken), several Shinto shrines have been erected both offshore and on the island proper. Buildings are generally created from red wool, wood and stone bricks.
The inhabitants of the island attempt to leave much of the natural vegitation unharmed while expanding, in order to maintain the beauty of their home, and build in accordance with aestethic ideals.
In addition, there are various signs and symbols of faith hidden in plain sight throughout the island, many predating the current inhabitants by generations. From simple rock formations that seem unlikely to have been shaped by nature alone, to fire shrines placed on the highest points of each island and illuminated by netherrack.
Below the waters of the Tri-Isles lies an intricate cave system which criss-crosses through the stone foundation, creating pockets of air for those foolhardy enough to swim inside. Although it has been rumored that there are caves filled with diamond ore inside these pockets, tourists and islanders alike are discouraged against searching for such, due to the high risk of drowning. Sadly, these warnings are not always heeded.
Economy
The economy of the Tri-Isles is relatively strong, having a massive and so-far inexhaustible amount of precious metals below the volcanic surfaces to trade for. Though while the island is rich in underground resources, no animals or trees were found naturally on the island, and had to be introduced. The first trees were planted by the travelling architect and notable Swede, Rupert R. Rubertsson, who was also among the first visitors of the island.
The Great Egging was an event on the 30th of October which introduced chickens to the island, when BremenBernd arrived with roughly 2000 exactly 576 eggs and began pelting the island's inhabitants, spawning hundreds of flightless birds in the process. This event was shortly followed by the great Weeaboo Bay drowning, where hundreds of the animals sank to the bottom.
